Job Title: Technician Level III
Reports to: Department Manager
Job Type: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Technician Level III is expected to perform a variety of high-level tasks related to the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of vehicles and to conduct more complex diagnostic and repair work with minimal supervision.
Required Competencies
- Specialized in repair and maintenance for diesel engines/trailers
- Advise and diagnose mechanical problems
- Expert level knowledge of equipment
- Advance knowledge and ability of major repairs
- Ability to perform DOT inspections
- Effectively communicate with Service Advisors and notify them of needed equipment repairs.
- Consistently notify Service Advisors the status of repairs and completion.
- Ensure work orders are completed and submitted for billing in a timely manner.
- Ensure shop tools and assets are used properly and secured properly.
- Ability to train, lead and set an example of high-quality work.
- Upkeep and cleanliness of work areas.
- Follow company safety & security guidelines
- Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job.
- Other duties as needed.
Required Qualifications and Education
- TWIC Card
- DOT Inspector/Certification
- Valid driver’s license/ CDL class "B" or greater.
- Ability to multitask and support the fast-paced demands of our business.
- High level of heavy truck and trailer equipment repair.
- Consistently exhibit strong work ethic and drive to achieve established goals.
- Ability to contribute within a team atmosphere with employees.
- Strong Mechanical Aptitude.
- Must be able to lift heavy equipment and parts regularly.
- Must be comfortable with working in awkward positions or cramped spaces
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $24.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
